Grove win Super thriller

BLACKLEY (Grove) and Newton Heath fought out a thrilling finish to their Greater Manchester Super League division one match on Sunday.
The Blackley men took the match 4-3 when Dave Skelton beat John Kurpas by the odd leg in five in a tight decider.
Grove had gone 3-0 up through Mark Holden who hit a 15-darter, Steve Whitehead and Dario Padron, but the next three sets went the way of Newton Heath.
Alan Cleworth included a 180, Pete Ward smacked a 13-dart leg via 100, 140, 125, 100 and double 18, then Mark Simister levelled the scores.
Blackley (VASA) overcame Radcliffe 4-3.
Their success was more emphatic than the scoreline suggests, as they had stormed into a 4-0 lead to clinch the points. John Downs, Mark Smith, Dave Cullen and Eric Quinn were the winners.
Blackley (VASA) travel to play Heywood at the Bay Horse on Sunday. They leave the VASA club at 11.30am.
Blackley (Grove) entertain Radcliffe Town, while Newton Heath have no game.
