Hill’s run ends

CHEETHAM Hill’s good run in the Lancashire County League came to an abrupt end last weekend.
In a match reduced to 36 overs per side they managed only 113 (Anwar 42) against Denton St Lawrence.
Denton had scored 165 despite the efforts of Abbas (4-52) and Ali (4-62).
Matters went from bad to worse on Sunday when Hill faced Stand in a cup match.
Stand reached 228 for nine (S Catterall 89, A Sharp 50) despite strong bowling performances from Hamza (3-36) and Mirza (3-42).
In reply Hill stumbled to 144 all out. Only Humayun offered any real resistance with a solid 60.
