Youth march on into County Cup final

MANCHESTER Youth under 17s are through to the final of the Manchester County under 18s Cup.

They beat St John Daly in their semi-final.

Manchester started nervously and their opponents took an early lead.

But Youth started to play after a few calming words from the touchline.

A long throw from Curtis Williams was met by Mark Stringer who powered in an equaliser on his return to the team while on Army leave.

Manchester then took control of the game and a slick passing move was rounded off by Toby Iloba.

Saints pulled level, but just before half time another long throw from Williams was met by Iloba who outjumped defenders to head home.

It became 4-2 to Youth when a good move took the ball to Jamie Mack who skipped a tackle to score.

A corner cross from Sam Freakes was headed in by Iloba and Youth looked on their way,

But Saints gave themselves some hope with a third goal.

That hope evaporated five minutes later when Mack rounded the keeper to tap home and make it 6-3.

To round things off for Manchester sub Kyle Woods netted with a header.

The final will be played at Salford Sports Village, Littleton Road, Lower Kersal, on Sunday 27 April
