VASA mown down by rivals

MOWERS Arms have one hand on the title trophy after beating rivals VASA 5-2 in arguably the Moston Darts League’s match of the season so far.

Carl Hanson (23), Steve Studley (24) and John Downs (28) were the top throwers or Mowers who now hold a six-point advantage at the top with five matches to play.

Old House had a comfortable night against HBRBL, winning 5-2. Kevin Sullivan (21) and Pete Ryan (21) stood out in this mid-table encounter. Pete Armitage (27) threw well for the losers.

Player of the week was Fox Inn’s Rob McNulty who continued to challenge for the league’s most wins accolade.

He blitzed Wheatsheaf’s Gary Ruchat in a magnificent 17 darts, helping his team to a 5-2 victory.

Jason DeBio (29) and Joe Langlands (33) were also on form for the Blackley outfit.
