Trams could soon be seen on the borough's streets after the
government announced a U-turn over July's decision to scrap the
project and committed £520m to the "Big Bang" extension.
A PUBLIC meeting to discuss the government's refusal to extend
Manchester's Metrolink system was being held in Crumpsall this week
to encourage community groups and businesses to make their views
heard.
THE North East Manchester Advertiser went knocking on the door of
10 Downing Street to protest at the government's plans to scrap the
Metrolink extension into the area.
