Armed robber caught on camera

POLICE have released CCTV footage of an attempted robbery in Newton Heath.

At about 7.30am on Friday 12 October 2007, a man walked into Ravi News on Hapsford Walk in Newton Heath armed with a knife. He asked the shopkeeper to open the till but, startled by the panic alarm, the offender jumped and ran away.

Nobody was injured during this incident.

Anybody who recognises the man is asked to contact Greater Manchester Police on 0161 856 3540 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
